Software Software Magazine 500
ILOG moves up list
The latest Software Magazine 500 is out, and ILOG has moved up 30 places from last year to 174th position. Assembled annually, the top list shows the world’s largest software and IT service companies. Positions are determined by revenue, and buyers of IT products and services worldwide use the 500 to narrow down their shopping lists. Last year, ILOG was listed in 204th position. Its move up the list reflects its year-on-year revenue growth in FY06. (In the last Connection, we reported that Cape Horn Strategies had listed ILOG in the 2006 Sustained Success Honor Roll for six consecutive years of profitable growth.)

Software Magazine (www.softwaremag.com) has been compiling its top 500 list for several years, and is widely respected as a key source of information on the software industry.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100
Innovation is essential to successful supply chain management (SCM) today, and as ILOG’s hallmark, it sets our SCM applications apart from the competition. ILOG’s ability to consistently deliver innovation through its solutions has once again earned the company a place in the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100. Compiled annually by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine (www.sdcexec.com), the list is used by companies around the globe as their guide to the leading providers of supply chain solutions.

ILOG’s description in the 2006 list cites ILOG CPLEX and the ILOG PowerOps suite for their ability to integrate manufacturers’ planning and scheduling functions, and synchronize the planning department with the plant floor. The PowerOps suite – ILOG Plant PowerOps, ILOG Transport PowerOps and ILOG Fab PowerOps – offers targeted solutions for improving essential supply chain operations.

Worldwide Sales Kickoff
Speakers give market perspective
ILOG recently held its annual sales kickoff, bringing together sales, marketing and other personnel from throughout the company’s worldwide network of offices.

New faces included employees from ILOG China. With offices in Beijing and Shanghai, along with an ownership stake in Shanghai FirstTech, ILOG is able to offer all of its technologies and services to Asia’s fastest-growing economy.

As part of the training aspect of the kickoff, ILOG invited customers from different industries to give presentations. They talked about their experiences with ILOG, the service they received and their success with ILOG software, and fielded questions from attendees.

The speakers included senior-level executives from the business and IT divisions of Commerzbank, Danone, Delta Financial, Eurobank, Grupo Santander, Kombiverkehr, Lufthansa and Repsol. Presentations were also given by analysts and other industry experts to provide attendees with a clear picture of the market’s current landscape.

The kickoff was held in Paris and lasted three days. It gave attendees an opportunity to discuss recent changes in the company, such as its expansion in the Asia-Pacific market, and prepare for pending product releases, including ILOG JViews 8.0, ILOG JRules 6.5 and components in the ILOG Optimization Decision Management System.
