ILOG named ISV of the Year
ILOG has been named Independent Software Vendor (ISV) of the Year for 2006 by FileNet, an IBM company and leading provider of business process management (BPM) solutions.
The award is one of several given annually to top ValueNet partners for their sales achievements and solutions with FileNet Enterprise Content Management BPM technology. ILOG has been a FileNet partner since 2003. In 2006, five ValueNet service partners added ILOG to their FileNet P8-based industry solutions or frameworks, resulting in six customer wins.
“Our ValueNet partners help us to drive successful implementations of our customers’ ECM [enterprise content management] solutions,” says Lee Roberts, general manager of content management for IBM. “We honor them for their ongoing commitment and for developing solutions that provide our mutual customers with ECM and BPM offerings that address their content management, regulatory compliance and business process needs.”
Laurence Ross, ILOG alliance director, accepted ILOG’s award at FileNet’s sales kickoff meeting in January.
“ILOG’s contributions to recent FileNet implementations, including Bank of the West and State of Nevada, played a key role in our winning this award,” says Mr. Ross. “Our unwavering commitment to FileNet’s ECM, BPM and SOA strategies, and our continued support of FileNet’s field sales organizations and ValueNet partners across the globe also contributed to this achievement.”

WINWORKS
Optimal employee scheduling
Employees are among the most valuable assets of any company, and their efficiency and reliability are directly related to how well they are scheduled.
Through a new partnership agreement with ILOG, WINWORKS (www.win-works.com) has developed WINWORKS One, a workforce planning and scheduling application that uses ILOG CPLEX to optimally assign employees. The application forecasts the number of employees and various skills needed for a worksite, and then generates a work schedule that respects employee preferences, labor regulations, and company policies and objectives. WINWORKS One maximizes business efficiency by accurately assessing business demands and ensuring compliance. It minimizes losses from missed sales opportunities that can result from staff shortages, and reduces overtime through practical, efficient labor management. It also ensures fair treatment of employees by assigning them equitably and fulfilling requests for time off and work shifts. WINWORKS One is primarily aimed at companies in the retail, logistics, food and beverage, and nursing and healthcare industries. Emphasis is placed on high service quality and meeting demand peaks.
ILOG CPLEX is the core technology in WINWORKS One. The leader in mathematical programming, ILOG CPLEX applies advanced algorithms to produce optimized solutions based on the restrictions and conditions given for planning and scheduling personnel. The application is well suited for a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, transportation, logistics, communications, defense, finance and sports.
ILOG’s part of the alliance includes product development and sales support. ILOG will help promote WINWORKS One through joint marketing activities that build on the lead position WINWORKS holds in Japan’s Human Supply Chain Management (HSCM) market.
