Microsoft .NET developers take note: The new ILOG Diagrammer for .NET 1.0 will give you access to ILOG’s 20 years of experience in making one of the most widely applied visualization formats. Diagrams are used in applications in just about every industry. The growing popularity of .NET means developers have to deliver a wide range of professional-quality diagrams.
ILOG Diagrammer for .NET brings ILOG’s extensive knowledge and experience in diagramming to the .NET platform, with features that include:
- Prebuilt graphics that include shapes, texts, scales, gauges and tiny charts. Custom graphics are created within Visual Studio 2005 Diagram Designer, an extension for ILOG Diagrammer for .NET. They can leverage:
- Animation framework to easily code behaviors (e.g., blinking and moving along a path)
- SVG graphic import from graphical tools such as Adobe Illustrator
- Filters for effects such as drop shadowing and embossing
- Graph layout algorithms that automatically arrange diagrams, placing nodes and routing links
- Prebuilt diagram editing tool that can be extended to deploy business-specific diagram editors (includes several sample editors that can be used to bootstrap development in areas such unified modeling language (UML) and business process management notation (BPMN)
- Complete integration into Microsoft Visual Studio 2005:
- Palettes of controls (e.g., diagram editor, toolbar and overview)
- Palettes of prebuilt graphic objects (e.g., shapes, text on path, flow-chart objects, scales and gauges)
- In-place creation of diagrams and graphic objects with code generation (generates C# code that can be extended to implement behaviors).
- Deployment as Windows Forms and Web Forms with Microsoft’s ASP.NET Ajax framework for a better user experience

SOA made easy
Click on a button, and ILOG JRules 6.5, the latest release of ILOG’s top business rule management system (BRMS), creates the Transparent Decision Services you need for your service-oriented architecture (SOA).
BRMS can be a crucial part of an SOA strategy. A hurdle for many organizations, however, has been an inability to deploy SOA decision services without a significant amount of additional programming. With ILOG JRules’ new pushbutton approach, developers can model a service with business rules and then use the product’s wizards to generate all the necessary code and configuration files for deploying the service to the Internet in far less time.
Semantic Query
It’s simple: You can’t use an existing rule if you can’t find it first.
ILOG JRules’ new Semantic Query goes through a repository of business rules and locates the ones that match given statements.
Semantic Query increases productivity and simplifies application maintenance by making rules easer to find, and requires less training and support for business users because no special terminology is needed to conduct queries.
ILOG JRules 6.5 also introduces changes that allow users to adapt the look and feel of Rule Team Server to their own standards, and extends Rule Studio’s support to Eclipse 3.2, the latest version of the widely used open-source integrated development environment.
