Wipro Technologies
New alliance for BRMS
Through a new strategic alliance with ILOG, Wipro Technologies (www.wipro.com) will incorporate ILOG business rule management system (BRMS) products into its application development process.
Based in India, Wipro is the world’s first CMMi Level 5-certified software services company and the first outside the United States to receive the IEEE Software Process Award. It provides comprehensive IT services and solutions that include system integration and outsourcing, package implementation, software development and IT maintenance services.
Sharing expertise
Through the alliance, ILOG and Wipro will share business and technical expertise to help customers improve business decision making, bring solutions to market faster, optimize business processes and manage product life-cycle development. Wipro will also create an ILOG Center of Excellence for selling and implementing BRMS applications. ILOG will provide access to its technology and training services, and work with Wipro to integrate its products into Wipro’s service offerings. Initial projects include integrating ILOG JRules, ILOG’s market-leading BRMS,
into a product life-cycle management solution for a major tire manufacturer.
Wipro will also use ILOG’s other product lines, namely its supply chain applications and visualization and optimization development systems.
EMC
Documentum 6 eases BRMS integration
The new EMC Documentum 6 can greatly benefit mutual ILOG-EMC customers by enabling them to deploy faster and with greater accuracy and transparency with ILOG’s business rule management system (BRMS).
EMC (www.emc.com) is the world leader in information infrastructure solutions. Its Documentum suite of products covers a wide range of applications, including transactional content management, archiving, compliance, interactive content management and platform infrastructure. The Documentum 6 platform is a key part of the suite, enabling rapid, flexible development, configuration and deployment of enterprise content applications. With it, EMC continues to lead the industry into the next generation of enterprise content management systems, as Documentum 6 moves from a separate application platform to an integral part of an organization’s information infrastructure.
New API revolutionizes development
At the core of Documentum 6 is a new application programming interface (API) based on Web services. It simplifies development and integration with ready-to-use enterprise content services to ease their integration with other applications within a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Together with new development tools, the API revolutionizes application development and configuration.
“As a longtime EMC partner, ILOG is extremely excited about the new Documentum 6 platform,” says Bounthara Ing, ILOG’s deputy CEO and EVP Asia Pacific. “We plan to leverage the new Web services API to easily integrate our ILOG BRMS with the Documentum 6 platform, which will allow our mutual customers to enhance their existing IT investments with additional flexibility, transparency and speed for faster time to market, while also meeting the SOA promise of reuse and agility.”
