Crossroads Award Goes to
ILOG
Open Systems
Advisors, Inc., (OSA) has named ILOG a winner of the ninth annual
Crossroads A-List Awards, for ILOG JRules in the business and technology
category.
OSA gives the awards to products, technologies and services that
achieve significant business results with early adopters, and are
under consideration by mainstream users. ILOG JRules was selected
along with such noteworthy entries as IBM Tivoli, Sun Forte and
Microsoft BizTalk Server.
"Using ILOG JRules, companies reduce the total cost of ownership
for their Java applications," says Nina G. Lytton, president of
OSA. "Consequently, ILOG's customers leverage the rule engine to
increase the number and variety of e-business applications they
deliver to their customers."
OSA determines the winners through interviews with IT executives.
Selection for the awards indicates a provider has successfully combined
three elements critical to mainstream adoption: strategic focus,
viable product or service offering, and consistent business results
for the customer.
Technical Writers Win
Again
ILOG technical writers Veronica Murphy and Arianna Laudazzi (photo)
have received awards from the Society of Technical Communication
(STC) for their work on the ILOG OPL Studio 3.5 and ILOG JViews
Charts 5.0 user's manuals.
Every year, each STC chapter selects the best publications submitted
by its members. The documents are judged on content, structure and
design, and awards are given for distinguished technical communication,
excellence, merit and achievement in six different categories: Promotional
and Information Materials, Quick Reference Guides, Software Guides,
Equipment Guides, Online Help and Online Books.
Ms. Murphy received a merit award for the ILOG OPL Studio manual
in the Software Guides category, and Ms. Laudazzi won a merit award
for the ILOG JViews Charts manual in the Online Books category.
Ms. Murphy accepted both for ILOG at the STC award ceremony in December
2001.
"Each doc entry we have submitted so far has been rewarded," says
Virginie Ahrens, technical documentation director at ILOG, "which
shows the excellence and professionalism of our docs."
This is the second time ILOG has participated in the STC Technical
Publications Competition. In 1999, three of its manuals won: ILOG
Views
- Class Hierarchy, for excellence
- ILOG Dispatcher 3.1, for merit
- ILOG TGO 1.1 User's Manual, for achievement
The STC is an international organization for technical communicators.
It has more than 20,000 members worldwide, making it the largest
association serving the technical communication profession. Founded
in 1991, the French chapter of the STC was the first founded in
Europe. It is currently the largest European chapter, with more
than 230 members.
