ILOG tours U.S., Europe
Sharing our latest advancements and successes with our customers, ILOG representatives recently completed a tour of ILOG Tech Day conferences, visiting 10 cities in Europe and the United States.

Hitting IT hot spots, including San Francisco, Paris and London, the tour marked the first time ILOG had gone on the road with its popular annual users meeting. The series of events spanned April and May, and gave hundreds of attendees an opportunity to learn firsthand about upgrades to ILOG's products. It also allowed them to interact directly with ILOG spokespeople and industry leaders from other companies.

Presentations were given on all the product families, as well as the company's comprehensive professional services for helping customers succeed with ILOG software.

ILOG Japan
Webb joins as general manager
ILOG welcomes Lance Webb as its new general manager for ILOG Japan. Mr. Webb came to ILOG from Rogue Wave Software, where he was largely responsible for improving the profitability of the company's Asia-Pacific operations. While there, he signed important enterprise deals with companies in Japan, China and India. He also founded Rogue Wave's operations in Japan, making Mr. Webb a veteran with the country's business community.

"His can-do attitude, combined with his salesmanship and his knowledge of Japan's business society, will be an advantage to the successful execution of our global strategy in Japan," says Bounthara Ing, ILOG COO and president of ILOG Japan.

ILOG-TeleManagement Forum
Compliance tester goes live
The TeleManagement Forum (www.tmforum.org) has ported an application compliance testing tool as a Web service developed by ILOG with ILOG JRules.

The testing tool allows TM Forum members to check an application against New Generation Operations Support and Software (NGOSS) architecture recommendations. The application is submitted as an XML file, and the tester quickly returns a report on the program's compliance. The report explains any problems in the application, and provides information for resolving them.

The Web service tester enables software makers to more quickly develop NGOSS-compliant applications.

Harvard's Belfer Center
ILOG CEO named to policy council
ILOG Chairman and CEO Pierre Haren has been selected for the International Council of the Belfer Center of Science and International Affairs. A public policy research center at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, the center's primary mission is to provide expert knowledge on international security and other critical issues where science, technology, environmental policies and international affairs intersect.

Mr. Haren will contribute to the center's discussions on business, technology and international trade. Besides co-founding and leading ILOG, Mr. Haren is a pioneer in advanced artificial intelligence software and a co-founder of the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea. He has received numerous awards and recognition in his career.
