ILOG JViews and ILOG JTGO
Java visualization just got easier
ILOG JViews’ components are now available as separate, yet complementary, products, making access to the powerful features of ILOG’s award-winning Java visualization software easier than ever. Each new product focuses on building a specific type of display: diagram, map, 2D chart or Gantt chart.

These new releases also introduce Designer, a point-and-click development environment for configuring most aspects of a display without coding. Designer is used to set visual properties and data-source parameters, and define the appearance of graphics under different data conditions. Developers still retain access to the underlying Software Development Kit for custom rendering and interaction.

EclipseNew rule editor for IDE
Total Eclipse
ILOG Business Rule Studio, Developer Edition, is the first business rule authoring, testing and debugging environment for Eclipse (www.eclipse.org), the leading Java integrated development environment (IDE). Recently made Eclipse’s first and only business rule vendor, ILOG created the studio to help Java developers learn how to apply business rule technology.

Available free for download from ILOG’s website, ILOG Business Rule Studio enables business rule development within Eclipse and minimizes training costs with tutorials, samples, white papers and flash demos. Its plug-ins can be used with any Eclipse-based IDE, including IBM’s WebSphere Studio Application Developer.

Business rule technology makes applications more agile by capturing business logic as easily embedded rules. By integrating ILOG Business Rule Studio with the familiar Eclipse IDE, developers can quickly learn to write, debug and execute rules. It will allow them to focus on applying business rule technology, without having to learn a new development environment.

ACORD XML certification
ILOG JRules qualifies
The Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD: www.acord.com) has given the ACORD Certification Award for ACORD XML to ILOG for ILOG JRules, a key offering in ILOG’s Business Rule Management System (BRMS) product line. Given at this year’s ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum, the award means that ILOG JRules meets ACORD’s Property and Casualty/XML standards. The certification resulted from ILOG’s commitment to the insurance industry, which has been quickly adopting ILOG BRMS for many of its operations.

“The work that ILOG just completed is essential in validating the ACORD standards,” says Denise Garth, vice president of membership and development at ACORD. “We’re grateful for their leadership role in facilitating the ability to usher new products and services in a more efficient manner.”

ILOG BRMS empowers nontechnical business users to contribute directly to the upkeep of the business logic used by primary applications for recommending and selling insurance policies, and processing claims. ACORD is a nonprofit organization that facilitates the development and use of standards in the insurance industry. It serves as a global resource for information on EDI, XML and electronic commerce.
