Weatherford joins board of directors
Brings 30 years of IT financial experience to ILOG
Thomas Weatherford, former chief financial officer of business intelligence software leader Business Objects (www.businessobjects.com), has been elected to ILOG's Board of Directors. Mr. Weatherford became Business Objects' chief financial officer in 1997, and retired at the end of 2002.
"ILOG can only benefit from Thom's experience in the international software and financial world," says Pierre Haren, ILOG CEO. "He is well respected among the institutional software investment community and there are many similarities between ILOG's and Business Objects' businesses where his experience will be highly relevant. I welcome him to our Board."
In his 30-year career, Mr. Weatherford held senior financial positions at NETCOM On-Line Communication Services, Logitech, Texas Instruments, Schlumberger, and Tandem Computers, and served on the Board of InStranet, Inc.
Lassila joins tech board
Bringing a vast knowledge of Web and intelligent agents, Ora Lassila has joined the ILOG Technical Advisory Board. A research fellow at the Nokia Research Center and chief scientist at Nokia Venture Partners, Mr. Lassila is well-known for his work on the Semantic Web, a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) initiative aimed at bringing meaningful content to Web pages to improve cooperation between computers and people.
Mr. Lassila is also a member of the W3C Advisory Board, a post held since 1998. In 1996-97, he worked with W3C on the Resource Description Framework (RDF) while serving as a visiting scientist at the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science.
