ILOG JRules 4.6
It keeps getting better
Available in Q1 2004, the new ILOG JRules™ 4.6 will give customers more flexibility and performance through enhanced full-featured decision tables and new ILOG Business Action Language (BAL) extensions. These features enable policy managers and other business users to write and maintain complex rules, using familiar business terminology. Performance improvements include better memory management and an enhanced Rule Service.

Decision tables
Decision tables simplify the creation and maintenance of business rules. They allow analysts to manage their rules as tabular data and boost productivity by exploiting the repetitive structures found in many rule sets. This user interface makes the creation and maintenance of even the most complex rules simple and easy to do.

BAL extensions
The new BAL extensions greatly enhance the expressive power of rules in a business environment. Policy managers and business analysts will be able to write more complex rules with less help from their IT departments.

Engine performance optimization
Optimized memory management decreases memory consumption by ILOG JRules' business rule engine. Reduced retention of rules and rule metadata gives the engine a smaller memory footprint in certain operating modes.

Deployment framework
Enhancements to the Rule Service in ILOG JRules 4.6 offer:

Better scalability, especially with XML
Context pooling parameterization
Simplified deployment platform support

ILOG Gantt for .NET
First Gantt chart in C#
More than a decade of development and application has made ILOG Gantt one of the most successful charting techniques for displaying operational information. Now, customers can take full advantage of this success through the Microsoft .NET Framework.

ILOG Gantt for .NET brings the first Gantt chart in C# to the .NET arena. It enables developers to create fully functional Gantt charts in minutes within Microsoft Visual Studio .NET or Borland C# Builder. Most of the development is done graphically. Users can drag and drop controls into place, and need to write very little code, which can be done in any .NET language.

ILOG Gantt for .NET is fully customizable and optimized for fast displays and refreshes. It comes with a data model that can be adapted to any scheduling application, and does not require data duplication. Users can create displays with widely used Gantt charts or specially design one for an application.
