IBM
Hard work pays off
IBM and ILOG have been burning the midnight oil in two different projects, and their joint efforts have paid off: ILOG JRules has become the first Business Rule Management System (BRMS) certified for the IBM eServer zSeries, and a connector has been built to make the BRMS accessible through IBM WebSphere® Business Integration workflow software.

IBM eServer zSeries
ILOG worked closely with IBM engineers to gain certification for both Linux and z/OS zSeries environments. This heralds good news for organizations worldwide, particularly in finance and government, that are planning to deploy Java business rules on mainframes to enhance security, performance and manageability through server consolidation.

According to IBM ( www.ibm.com), the zSeries is the first group of enterprise servers designed from the ground up to meet the high-performance data and transaction processing requirements of the next generation of e-businesses.

WebSphere connector
Available now from ILOG, the connector allows business users to make policy changes within a business process management (BPM) application with minimal IT involvement. They will be able to respond faster to customer demand, regulatory changes and market competition. Business rule management enhances BPM solutions by automating decision-making, improving agility and reducing IT maintenance costs. ILOG JRules delivers this functionality to IBM Websphere Business Integration users.

ILOG is a member of IBM's PartnerWorld program and Business Performance Management Initiative. ILOG Business Rule Studio, Developer Edition, the first business rule technology for the popular Eclipse integrated development environment, has been validated for use with IBM WebSphere Studio.
