ILOG JRules 5.0
Pulling away
Setting the pace for the software industry, the new ILOG JRules 5.0 is the only Business Rule Management System (BRMS) able to fully support and deliver the benefits of collaboration between business and IT users.
ILOG JRules has long empowered business users to maintain business rules in applications themselves, and share and distribute these rules through a central repository. Version 5.0 provides new tools to better deploy, monitor and control business rules, expanding BRMS support for both technical and business users.
New features include documented best practices for development and production environments, an enhanced repository structure with support for copying and merging repositories, and support for using a source-code control system to manage repositories. Users also get improved repository locking to better manage multiuser authoring and rules in a release or production repository. These features support full multiproject life-cycle management for rules.
Enhanced execution and management
ILOG JRules 5.0 introduces a new deployment module: Business Rule Execution (BRE) Server. It provides an integrated suite of components for executing business rules on production J2EE application servers and databases.
The BRE Server includes:
- A Web-based system administration console for monitoring performance in real time
- Interactive remote debugging for testing applications and services
- A set of automation tools for flexibly integrating rules into customer application or management environments, applying a familiar command-line interface

ILOG JLOOX
Convert to ILOG JViews fast
Switching from JLOOX to ILOG JViews and want to take your old applications with you? ILOG has you covered: The new JLOOX Migration Kit does the hard work, cleanly converting JLOOX graphics and other assets into ILOG JViews formats. Available to JLOOX customers under maintenance and purchasing ILOG JViews licenses, the kit automates the conversion process and delivers graphics far faster than manual systems. It lets you reuse your JLOOX icons and graphics libraries, while taking advantage of ILOG JViews.
“This kit is part of our ongoing support for JLOOX, which ILOG purchased from eNGENUITY last year,” says Erwan Paccard, ILOG visualization product manager. “Since the purchase, we’ve also released a new version of JLOOX.”

Microsoft’s new .NET partner
With ILOG Gantt for .NET and ILOG Rules for .NET, ILOG has become a Visual Studio Industry Partner for integrating tools, components and languages into the Visual Studio .NET integrated development environment (IDE).
ILOG initially qualified for the partner program with ILOG Gantt for .NET. This status not only certifies these products for use with the IDE, but also gives ILOG immediate access to upgrades in the Microsoft product. It also enables ILOG to participate in Microsoft sales and marketing efforts for Visual Studio .NET.
