Wisor Telecom Selects ILOG JRules to Automate Order Management
ILOG JRules Helps Wisor Customers Improve Order Efficiency
PARIS and SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Dec. 18, 2007 – ILOG® (NASDAQ: ILOG; Euronext: ILO, ISIN: FR0004042364) today announced that Wisor Telecom Corporation, a leading operational support system (OSS) solutions vendor, has selected ILOG JRules®, a key offering in ILOG’s business rule management system (BRMS) product line, to automate complex order management processes for its telecom carrier customers. By incorporating ILOG JRules into its Exchange Path™ Interconnection Gateway software and Exchange Link™ Interconnection Clearinghouse service, Wisor can more effectively help its customers improve customer service and dramatically shorten the interval between service ordering and service initiation.
Wisor Exchange Path is an operational support system (OSS) software platform that enables seamless and automated trading and electronic bonding amongst telecommunication carriers and their partners. The Exchange Link service manages the interconnection between the multiple partners in the service ordering process. Wisor needed a way to effectively manage large numbers of very complex business rules for its telecommunications carrier customers. For example, a single class of service order is controlled by more than 15,000 rules, and the rules are revised several times a year.
Before JRules, Wisor was manually coding rules to update them. Many of the policies governing these processes were buried in legacy systems and were hard to access and change. In order to cope with this increasing complexity, as well as to be able to react quickly to new regulatory changes, the company decided it needed to move to a BRMS.
Wisor uses ILOG JRules in Exchange Path and Exchange Link to apply the thousands of rules to check the compliance of service orders and to validate order data. ILOG JRules performs business rule validation for each transaction that flows through the Exchange Path system, ensuring that all the required data and options for each particular service being ordered are appropriately handled.
"Reducing the time interval between ordering and installing a service is a critical customer service challenge for carriers in today’s highly competitive environment," said Matt Costello, CTO at Wisor Telecom. "Prior to integrating ILOG JRules into Exchange Path, we hard-coded our rules which made it time-consuming to manage and maintain large numbers of complex rules. The speed, accuracy, and flexibility of ILOG JRules has created an important competitive differentiator for our products and services, and has enabled our carrier customers to reduce service intervals, which in turn allows them to offer improved customer service to their residential and business customers."
ILOG has consistently built on its history of product innovation to make it one of the industry’s leading providers of business rule management systems. Forrester Research has recognized ILOG as a rules platform market leader, including the leader in rules platforms for Java. Customers of ILOG’s award-winning BRMS products include eBay, Equifax, Grupo Santander, Harrah’s Entertainment, Visa, Vodafone, Zurich, and many other leading Global 2000 companies and governments worldwide.
