When the Completion Menu option in the Write section of the Rules ribbon is enabled, the completion menu appears automatically as you edit rule statements.

When the Completion Menu option is disabled, the completion menu is only displayed when you request it.

To display the completion menu automatically

To display the completion menu when the Completion Menu option is enabled, do one of the following:

To display the completion menu on demand

To display the completion menu when the Completion Menu option is disabled:

  1. Click a placeholder or place the insertion point on, before, or after an existing rule statement fragment.
  2. Press CTRL+SPACE (or press ALT+DOWN ARROW).
  3. The completion menu displays the list of available insertion options, based on your current position in the rule statement.
To hide the completion menu

To hide the completion menu, do one of the following:

If you do not want the completion menu to appear automatically as you type, disable the Completion Menu option in the Write section of the Rules ribbon group (or right click a rule and disable the Auto Display Rule Completion option in the popup menu.
