ILOG Rules for .NET User Guides > Rule Studio > Storing and Sharing Rules

Business rules are designed for collaborative access by policy managers, business analysts, and developers using different rule editing environments. ILOG Rule Studio for .NET stores rules as part of a Visual Studio solution, but you can also store these rules in Rule Team Server to provide access for business users.

To make sure that rules stored by Visual Studio and in Rule Team Server are synchronized, you use the publish and update features of ILOG Rule Studio for .NET. The following figure shows how Rule Studio and Rule Team Server synchronize artifacts.
