Static Rule Analysis Report Wizard

The Static Rule Analysis Report wizard is used when you want to generate a static rule analysis report to identify and troubleshoot a conflict in a business rule application. Static rule analysis can only be run at the level of a rule project.

Open the wizard by right-clicking a rule project in the Rule Explorer and selecting Rule Report > Static Rule Analysis.

Section	Purpose
Name	Used to specify the name of the report.
Location	Used to specify the location of the report. The options include: Use a workspace location Use an external location Select Browse to navigate to a location for the report.

Select a BIRT Template

Use this page to select a BIRT template to use for the report. The list will include a sample template provided with the product and any templates that you have created.

Configure Extraction

This page is used to configure the type of extraction to filter rules and the type of checks of the report for the project as follows.

Section	Purpose
Type of extraction	Use to specify the type of rule filtering. The options are: Use all rules contained in project (default setting) Use an extractor to filter rules contained in project to perform static rule analysis on a custom set of rules. Use Browse to navigate to the extractor.
Type of checks	The type of checks include: Conflicting rules Rules with unsafe execution Rules with equivalent conditions Equivalent rules Redundant rules Never applicable rules.
