Viewing Datasets in the Input Dataset Selector |
PREVIOUS NEXT |
To view and manage input datasets and to create new ones, click Select/Change Input Data in any scenario definition to open the Input Dataset Selector:
The left part of this page is the Context Filters navigator, which displays the folders in which datasets can be organized, and the right part of the page is the Input Dataset Selector, which displays the datasets.
The Context Filters navigator displays the folder hierarchy in which datasets are organized. The names of the folders and their subfolders are listed in a tree hierarchy, along with the number of datasets contained in each folder. Datasets can be assigned to folders when they are created or edited; see Working with Input Data.
You can restrict the display of datasets in the Input Dataset Selector to only those contained in a specific folder by clicking the folder's name in the navigator. The folder name is highlighted and the Working Folder notice below the tabs states the active folder:
You can hide the folder navigation tree from view, while keeping the working folder at its current setting, by clicking the double arrow symbol to the right of the navigator title:
The navigator title changes to show the name of the working folder:
Click the double-arrow symbol to revert to the full navigator view.
The Input Dataset Selector displays the datasets in the currently selected folder, or all datasets in the database when Show All is selected. The browser displays the Name and Folder of each dataset.
You can perform up to three Actions on each dataset as follows:
Three other actions you can perform in the browser are to delete multiple datasets, by selecting them in the list and clicking Delete Selected Items, to start the process of creating a new dataset in an Excel workbook by clicking Open an empty Excel spreadsheet, and to load Excel and XML files containing datasets.
All the above actions are described in greater detail in the next section.
