Online Helps > Rule Scenario Manager Console > Simulations > Creating New Simulations

A simulation is composed of a list of scenario suites and a KPI to apply to the scenario suite execution results. To define a simulation, you select from the list of available scenario suites and select a KPI.

Note
Only those scenario suites that are executable, that is, fully defined, can be members of a simulation.

To define a new simulation:

  1. Click the Simulation tab to display the Simulation Navigator and Simulation Browser.
  2. Click Create a new simulation at the bottom of the simulation list to open the Simulation Builder displaying a blank simulation template.
  3. Enter a Name and a Description for the simulation in the text fields.
  4. At this point, the simulation has been created, and you can navigate away from the Simulation Builder page without losing the new simulation.
  5. Enter the name of a Folder, including a path to a subfolder if necessary, into which to organize the new simulation. The new simulation will be located in the specified folder in the Simulation Navigator:
  6. images/simulationBuilder1.png
  7. Select the scenario suites to include in the simulation by checking them in the Scenario Suites Available list and clicking Add Selected Suites.
    Tip
The Allow Duplicates option, when inactive, ensures that scenario suites are added to simulations only once. When this option is checked on, you can include scenario suites more than once in the same simulation.
  8. Select a KPI from the drop-down Key Performance Indicator list.
  9. Click Save to save the simulation.

To remove a scenario suite from the simulation definition, click Remove in the row of the scenario suite. To remove multiple scenario suites, click their checkboxes in the left column of the table, and click Remove Selected Items.

When you have finished creating the simulation, you can execute it by clicking Launch in the Simulation Edit box.
