Introducing Queries |
PREVIOUS NEXT |
Queries enable you to search through your workspace for rule artifacts that meet the search criteria you specify. Some types of query search on the condition part of a rule, some on the action part, and some on both. You can use queries to evaluate the impact of changes to the object model or changes to rules.
You construct queries in the same way that you construct rules. The query condition contains the criteria for the query action to be executed (see Query Conditions). The default query action is to display the results in the Search window, but it is possible to have the query carry out other actions such as move the results of a query to another package (see Query Actions).
Queries can be used in Rule Studio and Rule Team Server. However, if you are synchronizing your rule projects between the two modules there are some differences to be aware of (see Query Synchronization Between Rule Studio and Rule Team Server).
