| "No two benefit plans are alike. It is because of the dynamic nature of benefit services delivery and the high volume of transactions that we needed advanced business rule management software to cost effectively respond to increasingly complex customer requests. Using ILOG JRules, we have a solution that will scale as our business requirements change while supporting CitiStreet's need to exchange and manage employee information in real time." |

Business
CitiStreet is one of the largest global benefits delivery providers, with about 10 million plan participants across the nation. The company offers a broad range of products and services for defined contribution, defined benefit, and health and welfare plans of all sizes in all markets, including full-service record keeping and administration, investment services, and education programs.
Goal
One of the most challenging aspects of pension plan administration is calculating retirement benefits based on ever-changing complex formulas, plan provisions and government regulations. Setting up calculation systems is often costly and time consuming. To save costs and improve efficiency, CitiStreet needed to simplify its process.
Application
CitiStreet selected ILOG JRules as the platform on which to build and maintain its pension calculation system. ILOG JRules simplifies the pension calculation process by centrally storing rules and making them available to CitiStreet business analysts. Business analysts can write and edit calculation rules, and store them in a central location that allows It and other business users to test the rules before deployment.
Results
Because analysts can write rules themselves, CitiStreet is less dependant on its IT staff to maintain the system, and the company has cut development time and costs in half while maintaining quality and enhancing customer ser vice.
Technical
The application runs on a Jboss/Linux platform.
