ILOG JViews Telecom Graphic Objects (TGO) 8.1

Released in November, 2007, ILOG JViews TGO 8.1 provides updates to existing features, new examples, and it removes many previously deprecated classes. ILOG JViews TGO 8.1 is bundled with the latest versions of ILOG JViews Diagrammer and ILOG JViews Maps, which also have several new features.

Updated features
New features include:

  • Bellcore State Model
ILOG JViews TGO 8.1 comes with a “providing service” state.
  • Subnetwork alarm representation
The new Network component has a default implementation of alarm representations in expanded subnetworks, providing better support of alarm propagation and alarm visualization for parent-child relationships within the Network view.
  • Thin client support
The selection advanced programming interface (API) now allows for selection based on the identifier of a business object. ILOG JViews TGO 8.1 also provides support for embedding ILOG JViews TGO Faces components inside Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) and Apache MyFaces Trinidad forms.

New examples
New examples for each ILOG JViews TGO view demonstrate how to programatically populate the default data source with business objects and how to programatically establish relationships between the objects, without using XML.

Removal of deprecated classes
Many classes were deprecated with the introduction of ILOG JViews TGO 3.5 and ILOG JViews TGO 4.0. This included deprecation of classes such as "ilog.tgo.swing.IltTree" and the drawing factory mechanism. ILOG JViews TGO Web Components has been superceded by ILOG JViews TGO Faces Components, which was made available with version 7.5.

Previous Release

ILOG JViews Telecom Graphic Objects (JTGO) 8.0
ILOG JTGO 8.0 was released in December, 2006. This version offers many new features driven by existing customer demand, including better link information, easier styling of tabular data, and optimized drawing performance. JTGO includes the latest versions of JViews Diagrammer and JViews Maps, which also have several new features.

New Support of technology information on links
In addition to general-purpose link information such as state or media type, ILOG JTGO 8.0 adds technical information to specify and represent what is supported by the underlying connection. Technologies supported by default are: circuit switching, ATM and frame relay, Wireless Edge, Internet protocol (IP), synchronous optical networking (SONET) synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH), dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) Optical, and Multilayer. This information is displayed through a specialized icon and a predefined color. The predefined color often indicates the main technology specified, and the specialized icon can be used to indicate a particular variant of this technology. Additional custom technologies can be registered with dedicated codes or CSS directives.

The following table lists the new link graphics available with ILOG JTGO 8.0:

Link Technology Representation Technology Technology Name
circuit switching circuit switching Switching circuit switching
ATM/frame relay ATM Switching ATM frame relay
Wireless Edge Wireless Edge Edge Wireless Edge
IP IP IP IP
SONET/SDH SONET Transport SONET_SDH
DWDM Optical DWDM Transport DWDM Optical
Multilayer Multilayer Multiple Multilayer
Other other Unknown Other

Refer to the JTGO 8.0 reference manual for a complete list of features and detailed technical descriptions.
