Using the Symbol Editor > Getting Started with the Symbol Editor > Using Palettes and Categories > Creating a New Palette

To create a new palette:

  1. Select Palette>New Palette in the menu bar.
  2. The Palette Properties property sheet opens.
  3. Type bampalette in the Name field.
  4. Edit the name of the Java package used to store the palette in the Package Name field.
  5. Type a description of the package in the Description field.

  1. Click OK.
  2. The Save Palette File dialog box opens.
  3. Navigate to the directory where you wish to save the palette. By default, palette files are saved in the current users home directory.
  4. Type bampalette in the File name field.
  5. Click Save.
  6. This palette is opened in the Symbol Palettes pane at the right of the Symbol Editor interface.

Tip
You can have multiple palettes open simultaneously in the Symbol Palettes pane.
