Working in Different Modes

Modes in the Symbol Editor are used to:

Work in Editing mode to define your symbols.
Work in Preview mode to test the resulting behavior of the symbol as it would be in an application.

By default, the Symbol Editor runs in Editing mode. In Editing mode, you add objects and parameters as you have been doing. You change the Symbol Editor mode by clicking the mode buttons in the vertical toolbar next to the Symbol Outline pane.
