This section introduces the visual dictionaries that are used for displaying state changes in predefined telecom business objects. These dictionaries are based on worldwide standards: OSI, Bellcore, SNMP, SONET, Performance, Alarm, Trap and Miscellaneous state dictionaries. Reference tables for the graphical representations of these state dictionaries are contained in Appendix A, Reference Tables for State Visuals.

This section also introduces the object state classes and explains how to set states to predefined business objects.
