Best-of-class visualization tools for Java Swing, Ajax thin clients, and native Eclipse displays

ILOG JViews 8.5 gives developers working with the Eclipse platform a new set of services to organize and visualize large graphs of data, and it now works with three of the most popular Ajax development toolkits, making Ajax application development even easier for developers deploying to Ajax-based clients.

Features include:

  • A new module: ILOG JViews Graph Layout for Eclipse
ILOG JViews Graph Layout for Eclipse brings world-class diagramming expertise to the Eclipse platform. This new module allows pure Eclipse developers to add sophisticated diagram editing and diagram visualization capabilities to their Eclipse-based desktop applications.

ILOG Graph Layout for Eclipse extends ILOG's long history of graph layout algorithm expertise. It perfectly complements other popular Eclipse development components (such as EMF, GMF and GEF) to deliver automatic graph layout services for Eclipse-based (both RCP and plug-in) applications.

  • Improved integration with thin-client frameworks
ILOG JViews 8.5 now supports the leading Ajax integration frameworks, including IceSoft IceFaces, Apache Trinidad and JBoss RichFaces. It also supports Ajax push technology (Comet) offered by IceFaces, so you can create graphical displays that update asynchronously. ILOG JViews 8.5 also supports Facelets along with JavaServer Pages (JSP) technology, updated JavaServer Faces (JSF) support, and support for alternate implementations such as Apache MyFaces, JSR168 portals such as as Apache Pluto and LifeRay, and Web application servers such as Apache Tomcat and JBoss.

  • OpenAjax support
ILOG JViews 8.5 is compliant with the latest OpenAjax standards, so you can be certain that you can use ILOG's Ajax components with other compliant solutions in the same Web application.

  • Symbol compilation for ILOG JViews Diagrammer
ILOG JViews Diagrammer 8.5 makes it possible for you to generate Java code that represents the graphical symbols you design with the Symbol Editor. These symbols can be used in framework applications, designer-based diagrams and dashboards.

The Symbol Compiler is a new tool to help you compile your symbols. It allows you to manage the Java-code generation of your symbols, compilation and testing.
