ILOG JRules Upgrade Planning Assessment

ILOG JRules 6 represents a major evolution of ILOG’s BRMS platform.

Features include:

• A new Eclipse-based integrated development environment (IDE): Rule Studio
  
  
• Major enhancements to Rule Execution Server
  
  

The purpose of the ILOG JRules Upgrade Assessment is to help our customers who are running their applications on ILOG JRules version 5 or earlier to assess the benefits of upgrading to ILOG JRules 6.7, and to weigh those benefits against the costs and effort involved in upgrading.

How it works
Our ILOG JRules experts will spend approximately seven days at your site, interviewing your applications’ stakeholders, reviewing and analyzing your application’s code and the contents of the ILOG JRules repository, and scoping the effort needed to migrate the requirements to the new platform.

At the end of the workshop, you will receive:

• A detailed upgrade planning document, covering the business benefits of upgrading, the scope of your upgrade, the approach, and the risks and risk mitigations involved
• A high-level project plan to support your upgrade, with a breakdown of tasks, estimated time and effort involved and the required skills
• An upgrade planning presentation

The assessment will be tailored to your specific application requirements. A preliminary meeting will determine the areas of focus. This meeting will determine:

• The precise structure of your assessment
• Your application’s software and technical architecture
• Use and customizations of Rule Builder
• Use, customizations and authentication of Web Rule Builder
• The structure, business object model (BOM), metadata, size, rule complexity and deployment
• Rule execution
• Rule testing

At the end of the assessment, you will be able to decide whether or not it makes sense to upgrade to ILOG JRules 6.7.

What it costs
The workshop costs approximately $15,000.00, depending on the complexity of your application.
